Aqua aerobics
I have over 22 years of experience in the fitness industry. I love to teach aqua aerobics within the water, where I can keep an eye on the individuals and correct them as needed to achieve the best outcomes. About me
I’m Ilonka, a Hungarian born in Yugoslavia who moved to Adelaide at 15, currently living in Melbourne. After completing school and studying Science at the University of Adelaide, I followed my passion for movement and became a fitness and aqua aerobics instructor. I’ve always balanced my love for science with a commitment to health and wellbeing.
Teaching aqua aerobics from within the water allows me to guide participants with precision, focusing on core strength and correct technique. I’m also a proud mum of two and have been actively involved in their activities—from scouts to soccer.
In the 90s, I danced on New Faces with Bert Newton, and I’ve always loved creating art—especially using discarded lab materials to give them new life. As I transition toward retirement, I’m training to become a marriage celebrant, combining my love of people, storytelling, and community.
I’m a caring, energetic soul who thrives on connection. Whether I’m cooking, dancing, volunteering at the local gallery, or chatting with strangers, I bring joy, creativity, and heart to everything I do.
